description: "How to write song lyrics and the Suno style line for the person — structure tags, the hook from their own words, language of the seed, length per duration, the style formula (genre + voice + instruments + tempo + mood, no artist names), negative tags; also a song from an idea or from the person's own lyrics. # music-write · lyrics and style for Suno V6

## Lyrics

- **Structure tags on their own lines**: `[Intro]`, `[Verse 1]`, `[Pre-Chorus]`, `[Chorus]` (or `[Hook]` for rap), `[Verse 2]`,
  `[Bridge]`, `[Outro]`. Suno sings what is between them; anything in tags is not sung.
- **Length by `duration`**: ~150 s → intro, 2 verses × 8 lines, a chorus × 3, a bridge × 4 lines, an outro. 30–60 s → one verse
  and one chorus.
- **Repeats**: a bare `[Chorus]` tag is sung as the chorus again (9.10: the chorus written once + two bare tags → sung 4 times,
  checked with Scribe on the vocal stem). Write it out in full only when a repeat must change; otherwise a bare tag is fine
  and keeps the lyrics short to read.
- **Their words first**: a line from their seed or their message is the hook/chorus, word for word (only their own corrections).
- **Language** — the language of the seed or of their lyrics; lines that rhyme and scan in that language, not a translation.
- **Concrete pictures** from the theme (places, objects, one small story), short lines that can be sung in one breath; the
  chorus repeats identically every time.
- **Ad-libs** of the seed (yeah, hey, oh…) stay as written — they carry the flow.
- **Their own lyrics** — keep them exactly; only add tags where the sections are obvious. Never "improve" their words unasked.
- Never write the words of an existing song from memory; never name real people in a way that mocks or targets them.

## Style line (`style`, ≤ 1000 characters; one line, comma-separated)

`<genre and subgenre>, <voice: male/female + manner + language>, <2–4 instruments or sound>, <tempo> BPM, <mood/space>, <one hook word>`

- Start from MusicBrainz: the picked vibe's `style` (MusicBrainz genre references) or a named artist's (MusicBrainz artist references);
  then add the recording's observed tempo, vocal delivery and mood from your listening notes — and the chosen voice and 2–4 instruments. No private analysis field names are required.
- **No artist or band names** — describe the sound.
- Example shape (write a fresh one each time): "indie pop, warm female vocal in English, clean electric guitar, soft analog synth,
  100 BPM, late-night city mood, catchy chorus".
- `negative_tags` — what must not come: "female vocal" for a male rap, "english lyrics" for a Russian song, a genre it drifts to.

## A song from an idea (no seed)

Choose a vibe using MusicBrainz: compare 3 genres that fit the idea with "like …" references, or write your own preference. Put the chosen voice in the style. Then write and review the lyrics, and submit a song request without `source`, `title` required (≤ 80 characters). This JSON is an illustrative authoring plan, not a bundled runner or FlashBoards API:
```json
{"name": "{name}", "title": "<title>", "style": "<style line>", "lyrics": "<lyrics>", "vocal_gender": "f", "duration": 150}
```
For a beat or a backing track: `"instrumental": true`, no `lyrics`, `duration` = the length they need.

## Example run (reference only)

9.10.2026, test «Sock Thief»: idea "a song about a dog that steals socks", style "bright pop, playful female vocal, handclaps,
ukulele, 110 BPM", one verse + chorus, `duration` 30 → two 30 s takes · 23 s.

No example files are delivered or required; write a fresh song from your own idea.
