# upscale-sheet · a character sheet (close-up + full body)

One image, two scales of face — the settings must suit both.

**Best quality: upscale the halves separately.** Tested 29.09.2026 on a demo character sheet (Mara): the close-up (682×768) and the full figure (688×768) as separate 1K images, each through Magnific `ultra-sublime`, `4x`, `portraits` (15–27 s; s7z7eN7l8e, TdFBgcMVNR, repeats mElqgGkhJQ, IfLFN5rtvE), came out clearly sharper than the same halves of the sheet upscaled in one pass (2× Grainy cpuMhPy0eP or 4× Portraits ks3jPBu16B / jUAyVKyLD0) — pores, lashes and freckles on the close-up; a sharp face, hair and fabric on the full figure instead of a flat one. Generate the two halves as separate images, upscale each, then put the sheet together if you need one. (Cropping the halves out of a finished sheet was not tested yet.)

## Steps

1. Check the character on both halves (eye colour, distinctive marks such as a scar, clothes) — fix at 1K first.
2. Best: generate the close-up and the full figure as two 1K images and upscale each with 4× Portraits. Single pass: upscale the whole sheet in one pass with 2× Grainy Analog.
3. Want stronger skin on the close-up? Crop the close-up half and run `skin-enhance` on it only.

## Never

- Skin Enhancer on the whole sheet — it ruins the small full-body face.
- Creative Vivid / Wild; GPT Image 2.5 as an upscaler (it redraws: contours shift 4–6 points of drift).
