# upscale-video-final · the finished cut, once

## Choose

| Priority | Tool · settings | Time | Measured |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 🏆 | Magnific `video_upscale` · `mode=topaz`, `enhancementModel=starlightPrecise26`, `targetResolution=3840`, `upscaleFactor=2.4`, `targetFps=<source fps>`, `frameInterpolation=apollo`, `focus=0`, `sharpen=0` | 16 min | 1568×672 → 3840×1646, 1.64× fine detail |
| 🏆 same size | Topaz app · Starlight Fast 3 (tested externally in the Topaz app; not in the fal or Magnific APIs) | not measured | 1080P → 1080P, 1.41× |

## Steps

1. Trim first (drop keyframe-board or sheet frames, see `upscale-video-takes`), then upscale.
2. Use your own supported Magnific or Topaz account/tool and select the settings above.
3. Upload the finished cut, start the upscale and wait for that job to complete (15+ min in the measured run). Retrieve the existing job’s result rather than starting a duplicate.
4. Lay the original audio back (the upscale is silent).

## Rules

- Never on takes — once per final cut.
- Serve a web copy (H.264 ~2560 px) and keep the 4K master for download.
