History and errors
Read error messages, review Generation History, recover past outputs and download an archive.
Generation History records every generation you start, even if the result is gone from your board.
When a run fails
The placeholder is removed. An error card appears above the bottom toolbar with the message (and the model, for errors from the model's service), an info button (Error details) and Dismiss. The run's chip shows a short label such as Invalid input, Busy, Timeout or Blocked.
- Error details shows What happened and What to do. Copy Error copies it for support.
- With more than two errors, View all opens All Errors with Dismiss all. Hide all collapses them into a Show N hidden errors button.
A failure message does not always mean there is no charge. A Timeout run may finish later, and a completed result that couldn't be saved to your board is charged. Describe and Transcript can also be charged for completed processing even when no usable text is returned. While their outcome or billing is unresolved, funds may stay on hold. Check the run in Generation History and see Billing.
Not saved yet
If a run finished but its file couldn't be saved to your board, the placeholder stays on the board and reads Not saved yet, or Not saved: storage full when your device storage is full. The run was charged (or its billing is still being confirmed), and the result is kept for you.
- Click Retry to download the result again and place it on the board.
- If storage is full, click Free up space to open Settings → Health and make room, then click Retry.
- The ✕ removes only the placeholder. The result stays in Generation History, where you can also get the file.
A wide placeholder also shows a one-line hint, such as Charged. Retry, or find it in Generation History. or Billing pending. Retry, or check Generation History. Small placeholders show only the label and the buttons.
Runs that don't start
Generate is disabled until you pick a model. After that, clicking it tells you what to fix: a missing image, video or audio input, a missing or too-long prompt, the generation limit, an unavailable model, or a balance or payment problem. If a missing input shows as an error card, Error details says Input Validation Error and tells you what to fix.
For model runs, if prices can't be loaded, Generate stays disabled and shows Prices couldn't load. Click Retry under the prompt to load them again. Ordinary workflows use their own estimates and can remain available while model prices are unavailable.
Open Generation History
Open the FlashBoards menu (logo) and choose Generation history…, or click Reusable generations in the bottom toolbar, then the Generation history icon in its header. It's also a tab in Settings.
The Success, Failed and Active filters start on. Click one to hide those runs, and again to show them. One always stays on. To see only failed runs, turn off Success and Active.
- Successful runs show the model, amount charged, date and a Copy task diagnostics icon.
- Failed runs show Failed or Cancelled with Error details.
- Load older items or Refresh loads more. If the list fails to load, click Retry in the error message; a failed load does not mean you have no generations.
Each successful run shows how long you can still fetch its output, for example avail. ~2w (about two weeks). Some outputs expire after about a day. Hover the info icon next to the filters (About generation history) for output-availability and billing reminders. Check the actual charge for a Describe or Transcript request; a failure message alone does not mean its reserved funds were released.
- When more runs exist than are loaded, the counters show a minimum, such as Success 20+.
- Failed rows show a short category, such as Service Busy. Error details has more.
- Describe and Transcript runs are listed under those names.
Recover an output
Find the run
Open Generation History. Turn off Failed and Active so only successful runs show. Look for the model and time.
Fetch the output
Click Fetch outputs from provider (the download icon) on the run. Open or download the files.
Re-add it to your board
Drag the downloaded file onto the board. Runs that finished while you were away also appear under Background generations above the prompt box, with Add result to board.
WarningOutputs expire
Outputs aren't kept forever. Download anything you want to keep.
Download an archive
To recover many files at once, click Recovery at the top right of Generation History. Archive Recovery opens.
Pick a range
Under Download Archive, choose 3 days, 7 days or 14 days.
Create the ZIP
Click Create archive ZIP. It can take a few minutes.
Download it
Download it from the window, or use the secure link in the email you get. Open the link while signed in to the same account.
Archive limits:
- Up to 4 GB each. If yours is bigger, pick a shorter range or contact support.
- Available for 14 days.
- One archive per hour.
- Expired files are skipped.
Common errors
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Content blocked by safety filter | The prompt or an input triggered moderation. Some models are stricter. | Rephrase, remove names of real people, change the input, or try another model. |
| Invalid input or unsupported media | The file breaks the model's rules on size, length, aspect ratio or format. | Resize, recompress or shorten it. See Supported formats. |
| Service temporarily unavailable | The service is busy or under maintenance. | Wait and try again, or switch model. |
| Request timed out | A long job or heavy load. | Check History first; the run may still finish. Then retry with a shorter duration or fewer inputs. |
| Provider error during generation | The model failed. | Retry once or twice, then switch model. |
| Upload or media fetch failed | The input couldn't be uploaded or read. | Re-add the file or use a smaller one. For web links, download the file and import it. |
Cancel and reuse
- Only workflow runs show Cancel generation. Other runs can't be stopped; see Runs you can't stop.
- Reuse prompt, model, and inputs on a progress chip restores the setup so you can fix it and run again (not on chips of runs whose board was deleted). See Generate. Retry on a background-generation check or an unsaved output checks or recovers the existing run; it does not generate a new result.
If a placeholder says Generation interrupted or Still processing, click Recover or Check. Video runs can take several minutes. Check the existing run before starting another: it may still finish and be charged.
When to contact support
