Supported formats

File types you can import, and the size and length limits for model inputs and AI actions.

FlashBoards imports common image, video and audio files into a board. A file can sit on the board and still not fit a model's input, so when a model card shows stricter rules, follow those.

Images, video and audio all drop straight onto the board

Import formats

Drag files onto the board, paste them, or use Import Media in the Media Browser. See Import media.

TypeFormats
ImagePNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, SVG, BMP, TIFF (only in browsers that can open it, such as Safari)
VideoMP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, M4V
AudioWAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, AIF, AIFF
Board archive.refboard, compatible .zip (use Import Board)

HEIC, AVIF and MKV aren't accepted. Some MOV files (often from iPhones) won't play in the browser; convert them to MP4 (H.264) and import again. There's no size limit at import.

Model inputs

Each input slot takes one kind of media: image slots take images, video slots take video, audio slots take audio. Multi-reference slots take several images, and video or audio where the model allows it.

Inputs can be up to about 100 MB. Common reasons a model rejects a file are too many pixels, the wrong aspect ratio or frame rate, a video that's too long, or no clear subject. Recompress or trim with Media tools when needed.

Video models that need reference clips at a constant 24 fps accept ordinary constant-24-fps exports. Variable frame rate clips are rejected; convert them with Convert → 24 FPS in Media tools.

AI action limits in the app

These apply when you use the actions from a board. The API has its own limits; see Public API.
